Avi Zev, whose first experience with a musical instrument was the violin at age 3, is originally from Chicago, IL. He joined choir in junior high and also began playing the guitar in high school. He then went on to receive his Bachelor of Music with emphasis in Vocal Performance from UCSC in 2003 and currently can sing opera in five languages. He has been a locally performing musician for over 10 years, playing guitar and singing in projects, whose genres ranged from rock to bluegrass, such as The Mix, Playa, The Juncos and The Recognition. He has professionally sung sacred music for various churches in the larger Santa Cruz area including Holy Cross, Calvary Episcopal and the First Church of Christ, Scientist. His current musical interests are writing and recording his first solo album and being a part of the dynamic force that is Blyndsite.
